1. COMMON PROCESSES WHEN MILLING PLASTIC

When milling plastic, a high level of technical know-how is required to maintain the material quality. Before CNC milling machines process the plastics, a corresponding program is written or a template is used and the right tools are set up for perfect milling. After the plastic to be processed has been fixed in the milling cutter by means of vacuum clamping, the CNC machine follows the programmed contour with the appropriately programmed tool. Here, the plastic is sucked in with the aid of negative pressure so that the milling cutter can process the material

2. MORE EFFICIENCY IN PLASTIC MILLING

Where wood is chopped, splinters must fall! To a certain extent, however, these can also be used further, at least in the area of plastics processing - or do not have to be created in the first place. With the help of the right or more efficient tools and, in parallel, a clamping method for the plastics using a vacuum. By combining these saving measures, we are able to greatly reduce the material loss when machining plastic with CNC milling. In other companies in our industry, however, this has so far been used relatively seldom, since the more conventional type of processing (with the aid of "clamping" the plastics to a corresponding device) is the significantly simpler and therefore cheaper variant compared to the vacuum method. The reason for this is that the plastic must first be prepared for vacuum clamping, which means that the plastic processing processes are prolonged. Depending on requirements and budget, competitors often decide against clamping by vacuum and for conventional material clamping.
